LIT Restaurant Supply, Memphis

Bulk Food & Cooking Supplies in Memphis

LIT Restaurant Supply stocks restaurant-size food and commercial cooking supplies across three Memphis stores and a 60,000 square foot warehouse — chicken wings, catfish fillets, crab legs, frying oil, seasonings, aluminum pans, cups, containers and catering trays, all below retail price. We have been family-owned in Memphis for over 70 years, and we are open to the public with no membership fee: restaurants, caterers, churches and home cooks all shop the same shelves at the same prices. EBT/SNAP is accepted on eligible groceries. Come see us Monday–Saturday 8 AM–7 PM and Sunday 10 AM–4 PM.

Why people drive across Memphis for this

  • Restaurant-size packs at below-retail prices. The same cases restaurants buy, available to anyone who walks in.
  • 60,000 square feet of inventory. Three storefronts backed by a warehouse, so depth on the things people buy in quantity.
  • The stock changes constantly. Regulars treat a visit as a hunt — what's on the shelf this week may not be there next week, and that's where the best buys come from. It rewards coming in often.
  • No membership, no business license. No card to carry, nothing to renew, no separate pricing for the public.
  • People on the floor who actually help. Ask someone where a thing is and you'll get an answer, not a shrug.
  • EBT/SNAP welcome on eligible groceries, along with major cards.

Where to shop

All three Memphis locations carry food and cooking supplies, and all three are open to the public:

If you're deciding where to go first, go to Austin Peay — it's the flagship and carries the largest selection of both food and cooking supplies.

Every store: Monday–Saturday 8 AM–7 PM · Sunday 10 AM–4 PM

Frequently asked questions

Can anyone buy food at LIT Restaurant Supply?

Yes. All three Memphis stores are open to the public with no membership fee and no business license required. Home cooks pay the same prices restaurants do.

Do you sell food in restaurant-size quantities?

Yes — that's the core of what we do. Most grocery items come in restaurant-size packs and cases, which is where the savings are. Cooking supplies and smallwares are sold as single items.

Do you accept EBT or SNAP for food?

Yes, EBT/SNAP is accepted on eligible grocery items at all three locations, along with major credit cards. SNAP benefits can't be used for non-food goods such as equipment, disposables or cleaning supplies.

What kind of food do you carry?

Meat and seafood including chicken wings, tenders, pork ribs, meatballs, catfish fillets and crab legs; frozen items such as french fries and okra; frying oil, seasonings and sauces; and the disposables that go with them — pans, cups, containers and catering trays.

Does the inventory change?

Constantly. We buy opportunistically, so the shelves look different week to week. That's the reason regulars come in often — the best buys are the ones that weren't there last time.

Which location has the most food?

Austin Peay in Raleigh — it's the flagship and carries the largest selection of both food and cooking supplies, as well as the equipment showroom. Winchester in Whitehaven is second-largest. Summer Avenue in Midtown is the smallest, and carries more food than smallwares.

Do you list prices online?

No. Stock and pricing move too quickly to publish. Come in and we'll tell you what something costs today.
